15-10-07 We have just been advised that with immediate effect Andy Swallowe has resigned as Secretary of Haverhill Rovers FC. The new secretary is Adrian Gee, 24 Granhams Close, Great Shelford, Cambridge, CB22 5LG. tel (H) 01223-571272, (M) 07828-494727 e-mail: adriangee1@hotmail.com . There is also a new joint manager who is Andrew Taylor and his tel (M) 07900-268126
08-10-07 I must apologise for some late player registrations going on the web. A slight hiccup on my computer prevented me from uploading any information until Monday afternoon. For some reason my FTP programme that uploads the info to the web went into shutdown mode so that I could not access it. All is OK now but once again apologise for late info getting onto the site.
It has also been brought to the attention of the league that League Rule 10.14 is not being adhered to. This rule relates to the confirmation of directions to your ground and match details. This has previously been done by using post and posting it in time for it to be received by the Tuesday prior to the match. Although this is still an accepted method the use of e-mail is now an accepted alternative. The Rule actually states the use of the telephone 5 clear days before the match which is the confirmation to the club and officials that the match details are still OK. So what we as a management committee see as the process of actions is:
04-10-07 The e-mail address for Cambridge City Reserves Fixture Secretary is wrong in on the Web-site it should read: bubble170@hotmail.com
26-09-07 Please note that there is a change of e-mail contact for Billericay Town in Division One South. Please amend your handbooks to read: elaine.e.sykes@norwich-union.co.uk
25-09-07 As a bit of advanced warning Bill Servey will be unavailable from 30th September 2007 till 25th October 2007. Please use any of the other officers of the league for any queries who names and numbers are in your handbooks.
On a separate note I have to bring to your attention that several clubs have so far fallen foul of rule 4.10. Failure to satisfactorily attend to the business or correspondence of the ERWFL which in this instance covers forms not being filled out correctly with all the information that is asked for on the form. I refer to match forms. The home club secures the use of a registered referee and as a result of that registration the referee is given a registration number which is listed on the national data base for referees. The referee is given some form of registration card which he should produce or at least carry with him to all games which has his registration number on it. This number allows us as a region to inform the relevant County at the end of the season his marks as given by you the member clubs after each game which will go towards his / her marks towards their promotion etc. This number also tells us if the referee is a registered referee or not. From this Sunday any match card that does not have the referee number put on it will be dealt with under rule 4.10 and a fine will be imposed. Please also note that as mentioned at the last two or three meetings that referees are marked out of 100 and not out of 10 as previously done.
24-09-07 With the end of September fast approaching I am still awaiting several evening fixture dates from teams that have yet to play. I am sure that fines at this stage of the season would not go down well so make sure you have the dates for this week with me ASAP. Dave
23-09-07 Huntingdon Town have been in touch and are now able to offer places within their current squad for new players. So as to strengthen the squad for the continuing season all positions will be looked at. So if you fancy a game get in touch. Please contact Graeme Ferrari by e-mail: graham.ferrari@ntlworld.com Or phone on 07976-790789

Although this is very early in the season I would like to draw your attention to one or two points that may be of interest to you. They are in regard to pitches and hospitality. When you registered for the Regional League you had to state the pitch that would be used for your home games, this is part of FA rules and regulations as stated in our rules under rule 10.4. If for any reason your nominated pitch becomes unavailable then it is the home teams responsibility to secure another pitch for the game to be played on. If necessary a reversal of fixture would be allowed. But under no circumstances would a postponement of fixture be permitted. With regard to hospitality Rule 10.14a states that if the home team fails to supply refreshments or the away team fail to attend after match refreshments then in either case they will be fined. If as an away team you know you will not be staying after the game then let the home team know. Our league rules are in the back of the handbook and I suggest that everyone including clubs that have been with the region for some time read them again so that you are all up to speed with what is required of you.

Hi All, What is missing from the new hand book is the contact number for ringing in your results on a Sunday so here is not only the telephone number but also what is required: Telephone 01279-424342 after the game and before 6.00pm each Sunday (home club) Every club needs to do this if you are competing in a County Cup or Women’s FA cup competition You need to tell me by speaking slowly,
1 The Fixture 2 The Result 3 The goal scorers for both teams quoting their respective registration numbers which should be on the match sheet. 4 The player of the match for league games only (this is the player whose number is circled on the match sheet)
It is hoped that all this information will be on the Web-Site by the Monday latest although most times it will be uploaded by 9.30pm on the Sunday night. This will also depend on when I get home from my clubs game, as if I am away it might be a little later.
Have a great season

30-07-07 Chelmsford City Ladies are celebrating their recent success following their trophy winning weekend at the prestigious Umbro International Cup held in Manchester. On the Saturday, City made a good start beating Saltash United 5-2 before losing 1-0 to Chester City. They finished the day with a vital 1-0 win over Eastern Region Division One North side Kettering. The following day, City had the unenviable task of facing tough Estonian side, FC Flora Talinn where they battled out a thrilling 0-0 draw and ensured a semi-final place against Met Police. City started the dominant team against the very physical Met Police team and eventually netted the only goal of the game in the second half through the dependable Emma Ridings. In the all Essex Final, City took on fellow Eastern Region League side Brentwood Town. City once again changed the back four with Emma Wells filling in at right back, City took an early lead with the fast working Jasmine Wheeler scoring City’s first with a well taken goal. City continued to dominate the game and once again Ridings scored a goal just before the whistle giving City a two nil lead. Brentwood came back strong in the second half and scored an early goal. Both teams continued to work hard and Brentwood continued to push forward but defender Amy Vernon put in some vital tackles. With a few minutes to go Brentwood earned a free kick just outside the box where Kerry Mills followed it up with a tremendous shot that blasted into the back of the net. The game went direct to penalties where City won 3-1 (Emma Ridings, Michelle Davis and Sarah Jolly) netting from the spot to lift the impressive Myador Cider Trophy Plate. It was great to see both teams supporting each other throughout the tournament, the mutual respect and sporting play by both teams before, during and after the game. Both teams had a joint team photo taken after the medal ceremony which enhanced the good name of women’s, Essex and the Eastern Region Football.

I have just been instructed by Alex Franklin to bring to your attention that several clubs are still to forward relevant paperwork to him with regard to the League rules. First Aid Certificate, Child Protection (or recent equivalent) Certificate, Player Accident Insurance Certificate, Public Liability Insurance Certificate, Ground Criteria Document. There are also some of the new clubs still to pay their £50 bond, which will have to be paid before you can play within the Eastern Regional League. I also believe that several clubs still need to forward their County Affiliation Number to Alex. This number is not your National Club Registration Number it is your County Affiliation Number this needs to be done ASAP.
12-07-07
On Monday 16th July 2007 there will be a registration evening for all clubs who wish to attend at Bottisham, So if you have players already signed then come along and get them registered on the night. It will save the Satellite secretaries a lot of problems as we get nearer to August 1st when you need to have your full compliment of 15 players registered for next season. Doors open at 8.00pm
12-07-07
We have been instructed by the management of Godmanchester Rovers that because of a lack of players for next season that the club would have to withdraw from the Eastern Region Division One North with immediate effect. This will now make the two division ones the same in number with 11 teams each. We understand that the management team of Adrian Gee and Andy Swallowe are now part of the Haverhill Rovers management team. We wish you all the best in your new post.
Hi Dave, At last nights meeting our committee confirmed that with immediate effect we would be folding the ladies team at Godmanchester. Only four players turned up for the meeting which speaks for itself. We have contacted all of the players and offered to try and find teams for those who wish to continue. Today another club has asked myself and Adrian to run their ladies team next season which we have accepted. After making initial enquires at least four of our existing players will be coming with us so at least some of our players will be playing competitive football next season. One other is joining Bedford Town Belles and I will do my best to find clubs for the other three or four players.
Regards Andy

Points about registration of players.
1 Forms incorrectly filled in will be returned and will be deducted from the number you have sent. This will affect the number you have sent by 1st. August. 2 Please, SECRETARY'S, ensure your players have filled the forms in correctly. 3 Remember UK / BRITISH is not good enough when supplying the place of birth. If the person has lived in England for more than five years she does not need an international clearance. Otherwise international clearance is required even if she has not played football before. International clearance can be obtained via the F.A. in Soho Square. When you receive it send a copy with your registration form to your satellite. 4 Your SATELLITE contact details are on the website. You may deliver your registrations to your satellite but if you wish to speak to your satellite you must make an appointment with him or her before knocking on the door. 5 You have enough forms for the this season so do not give them out as if they are confetti. Make sure they are going to be used by the applicant to sign on for you. 6 A fee of £1-00 will be levied for any additional forms required. If you do not send the cost of postage you will be invoiced later on in the season. 7 Do not hesitate to contact me if you require any information. Bill Servey.
