You will probably have noticed that when reading the results on a Sunday of late there has been several references to 'NR' This has been placed on the site as notice that the result of the match has failed to be received by me before the 6.00pm deadline. I also have to say that there are several clubs that also have failed to report results of County Cup and FA cup games. It is the responsibility of ALL clubs whether you are the home or the away side to report the results as if you were the home team in a regional match. Please take note for future reference.

Well we have had a busy year with regard to discipline, I hope you are all now aware that the rules of the league are there to be adhered to. Obviously when they are not then the wheels of fines comes into use and here we are hitting a problem on several counts. Although not in the rules it is commonly understood that the fines should be paid by Cheque. Hopefully a Club Cheque, as then we have knowledge of who has sent it in. So far Yvonne has received payments in small change, notes, personal cheques and club cheques as well as postal orders. Yes the fine has been paid but there is firstly no receipt for cash as what would happen if as a club you insist that there was the right money there and the recipient said there was not. Secondly personal cheques are fine but could you please put on the back of the cheque what it is for and from what club it represents, this would also apply to the use of postal orders. I suppose really if we all complied to the rules then this little statement would not have been needed.

07-01-09

A request from Ian Dack of Wymondham Town

Wymondham town  ladies are  currently  looking for more players to add  to our friendly but small squad  ideally we  need an experienced goalkeeper and a striker, any one who is interested could you email me at Iandack@tiscali.co.uk

thanks Ian Dack Wymondham manager

05-01-09

I think that the current fixture situation has now come to almost a desperate situation and as a league we have to try and address it so that we can finish on time. (Especially the Premier Division) I understand that the current frosty conditions have affected us all but I would like to see clubs offer a reverse fixture even if the reverse fixture has already been played. I have been told by Peter Ball that currently the league is 89 league fixtures behind across the three divisions and we really cant afford to see that number grow much higher. I can understand the reluctance to go and play away when you should be at home and give your home advantage up but unless we look at this then the league will not finish on time and we could be sanctioned by the FA. So as a gesture of good will lets try and get the remaining games played where we can. Thank you.

04-01-09

The management committee is currently looking at ways to try and eliminate fixture congestion as we are currently having due to bad weather County Cups and FA Cups. We have as a region encouraged teams to enter the FA Women's cup and I think we can now boast an entry number of some 25 clubs and quite a few of these have progressed further than the second round which has meant that some fixtures would have been cast aside till later in the season. This scenario also applies to the County Cups. I will list the proposals below that we are discussing  so that you can comment at our next meeting.

1]   The season to start the second Sunday in August which will pull us in line with most men's leagues

2}   Revamping the League Cup to just one competition with no seeding for Premier Teams

3]   The Plate and Shield Competitions to be end of season (over the last two weekends in May} 11-a-side 20 minute each way tournament for the division          ones which would be a compulsory competition.

4]   An increase in the number of night matches across the region.

These are contentious suggestions and I do not expect the ideas to be accepted without debate but I do express a belief that if we do not act now to rectify the current fixture situations that are getting worse year on year then we will be hard pressed to fulfil our commitments to the FA Combination and County Leagues at the end of the forthcoming seasons. I would like these to be implemented for the start of the 2009-2010 season subject to ratification.

Over the last few weeks we have had some terrible weather conditions which has meant a great deal of postponed matches. This has meant early pitch inspections by yourself or others ie. Referees or Groundsman and then you have to call every player and club official to let them know, but it seems there has been a couple of occasions that have seen the opposing club not being told until they are on their journey to your ground. So lets set up a process to try and make everyone agreeable to each other in respect to games being called off.

1]     In the event of bad weather and or a suspicion that your game could be in jeopardy contact your visiting club and tell them so and get their expected leaving time just in case.

2]     Should you then need a pitch inspection, directly after the inspection or if the weather improves contact your visiting club and inform them either yes the game is on or no the game is off so that they are fully aware of the situation prior to them leaving their start point

3]     Contact your players and officials of the same.

Your main priority on match day is first to your visitors as they have to do the travelling so they need very early information and then your players who probably live a lot closer as well as the referee. Players who have to travel would obviously get early information as well. If we can all keep to this as a courtesy then we should be OK.

A student need your help!

I am a third year Sheffield Hallam University Physical Education student and Rotherham United Ladies club footballer. For my Dissertation I am really interested in researching the experiences of women who play football.

The main focus of the research would be looking at whether the positives gained by being involved in women's football outweigh the perceived negatives of being involved in what is and remains a male dominated game. I therefore need players to agree to complete either a questionnaire OR agree to an informal but confidential interview.  I would really appreciate your help and a copy of the research can be made available to you on completion.

If you are interested or have any questions, my email address and phone

number are below.

15-10-08

I AM GOING TO WRITE THIS IN CAPITALS SO THAT IT LOOKS AS IF I AM SHOUTING AT YOU. WE HAVE SO FAR THIS SEASON SEEN A MAJOR INCREASE IN THE AMOUNT OF FORMS THAT ARE NOT CORRECTLY COMPLETED AS PER THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE LEAGUE. IT MUST BE OBVIOUS BY NOW THAT WE HAVE A NEW DISCIPLINARY SECRETARY WHO HAS BEEN GIVEN THE TASK OF GETTING EVERYONE TO DO THE BASICS CORRECTLY. THERE ARE A LOT OF MAY I SAY OLD HEADS OUT THERE IN THE REGION THAT HAVE BEEN AROUND THE FORMS LONG ENOUGH NOT TO MAKE REPEATED ERRORS BUT STILL THEY ARE BEING MADE. IF YOU ARE NEW TO THE FORM FILLING JOB IN YOUR CLUB AND WANT ADVICE THE COMMITTEE PHONE NUMBERS ARE IN THE HANDBOOK AND ON THIS WEB SITE AND WE WILL FREELY GIVE ANY ADVICE THAT YOU NEED TO PUT YOU ON THE RIGHT PATH. MANY CLUB HAVE SO FAR FALLEN FOUL OF THE RULES AND HAVE BEEN SUBSEQUENTLY FINED. SO TO SAVE YOUR CLUB FINANCIAL DESPAIR PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK THAT ALL THE INFORMATION IS COMPLETED ON EVERY FORM YOU FILL IN.

If you are sending in the referee form to show that the game had been called off because of a waterlogged pitch etc don't just get it signed and send it off as we also need to know the game that has been called off and date so we can then tick our boxes.

Your match referee has to give you his County Referee number which HAS to be printed into the box provided on the match sheet

Substitutes have to listed on the sheet along with the players in the starting eleven as well as an indication as to who they replaced by indicating their shirt numbers in the boxes provided at the bottom of the match sheet.

When phoning in results the information required is:- the match played, goal scorers (if any) for both teams with their registration numbers as some of the names are difficult to recognise on the answer phone so their registration number gives the chance to check and get it right. As well as the player of the match with name and registration number.

"The motto has to be don't get fined, do it right."

09-10-08

A note from our Disciplinary Secretary:-

Despite a notice on 'Breaking News' match forms for postponed matches are still being sent to the wrong official.

Match postponements for reasons pitch waterlogged/frozen etc (verified by referee or groundsman), should go direct to the Disciplinary Secretary Yvonne Chapman. (Rule 10.15a)  For other postponements such as player availability the evidence goes to Alex Franklin. League Secretary.

Please note if you have sent the form to the wrong official within the correct time frame up to and including

5th October, no further action will be taken. Those clubs who have failed to send the forms will be fined.

FROM MONDAY 6TH OCTOBER ANY CLUB NOT SENDING THE CORRECT FORM TO THE CORRECT OFFICIAL WILL BE IN BREACH OF LEAGUE RULES AND BE FINED AS PER RULE 10.16/10.16a

08-10-08

Well it is not often I get a question wrong about the league rules but I have to hold my hands up and say that last Sunday I did. I gave out false information with regard to completed referee forms that were confirming the postponement because of a waterlogged pitch. In my defence I will say that up to this season the forms did get sent to Alex but this year we have a Disciplinary Secretary and the rules were changed to suit so the forms now go to Yvonne Chapman. So I apologise for my mistake and I hope it will not happen again. So in future any game that is called off because of a waterlogged pitch then the completed form has to be sent to Yvonne Chapman. Rule 10.15a

25-09-08

Well now it is not often I have to send out a verbal slap on the wrist but I have got to today. To ALL clubs (although some of you are OK well most of you are) There are certain protocols you have to attend to on match day and here is a break down of those tasks.

1  Both Clubs Make sure that the MATCH FORM is completed correctly with referee NAME, MARK and his REFEREE NUMBER

2  Home Club Make sure that the Referee COMPLETES his referee form

3  Home Club make sure that ALL RESULTS including:- Teams, Goal Scorers & their registration numbers, and the Player of the Match &

their Registration Numbers are telephoned into 01279-424342 by 6.00pm latest and NOT my mobile number.

4  Home Club Make sure that BOTH the home and away teams sheets (white copy) with the referee form are sent to Bill Servey to be

received by Tuesday following the game.

Any failure to comply with these simple agendas will result in your club being fined under rule 5.9

14-09-08

I am not sure where this guy lives or what area he is prepared to cover but an e-mail may get you a referee.:-

Gemma Barlow of Royston Town has done some digging and has supplied us with this link to the FA web site direct to the international clearance information.

Thanks Gemma.

http://www.thefa.com/TheFA/RulesAndRegulations/Additional/Postings/2003/11/InternationalTransfers.htm

25-08-08

We have been notified again by The Registrations Department at the Football Association that ALL players from outside of England requires an International Clearance before she can play in England. It even applies if she has not played for a club outside of England. If the player is over 12 years of age a clearance is required. These are the only exceptions:

INTERNATIONAL CLEARANCE APPLIES TO ALL PLAYERS OVER THE AGE OF 12 REGARDLESS OF STATUS (IE PROFESSIONAL OR AMATEUR) WHO COME INTO ENGLAND FROM ABROAD AND WANT TO PLAY FOOTBALL.

EXCEPTIONS:

1, IF A PLAYER CAME INTO ENGLAND AS A YOUNG CHILD UNDER THE AGE OF 12 THEN A CLEARANCE IS NOT NEEDED.

2, IF A PLAYER HAS LIVED IN ENGLAND OVER 5 YEARS A CLEARANCE IS NOT REQUIRED.

3, IF A PLAYER HAS JUST COME INTO THE COUNTRY AGED OVER 12 THEN CLEARANCE IS REQUIRED.

4, IF A PLAYER HAS BEEN IN ENGLAND LESS THAN 5 YEARS THEN CLEARANCE IS REQUIRED,

5, IF A PLAYER COMES INTO ENGLAND AND SAYS HE/SHE HAS NOT PLAYED FOR ANY CLUB THEN WE STILL HAVE TO

GO THROUGH THE MOTIONS OF APPLYING TO THEIR LAST COUNTRY FOR CLEARANCE - STATING THAT LAST

CLUB IS NOT KNOW.  THE OTHER ASSOCIATION WILL THEN COME BACK TO US AND SAY THE PLAYER IS CLEAR

Hopefully this will be the definitive answer to all your questions from now on

21/08/08

Rule 8.2c states that ALL clubs MUST have 15 players registered with the league by August 1st as proof that said club can complete the league programme. Failure to comply will result in a fine. At present we have 4 clubs who are still below that number and the league programme is about to start in 10 days time. The only course of action that the league would have if those clubs did not have their numbers up to 15 by the start of the season would be to suspend that club until they do. Currently Hethersett Athletic (14), Lakenheath (14), Peterborough (14), and West Lynn (13) need to get players signed on very quickly.

19-08-08

After having a conversation with Bill Servey it appears that several clubs are still not taking heed of the post office new postal standards. So Please note that Bill will not (as last season) travel to the post office to pick up post that was not delivered to his door because of oversized letters that are under stamped. As a rule of thumb any letter that is put into an envelope that is a greater size than A5 will need to have postage for a 'LARGE 'letter Also you will need to check the thickness of the letter as well. So if you need that player for the weekend make sure all the post office requirements are met otherwise you may not get your player for the next game.

From an enquiry through our league liaison officer John Bacon a request was made for all clubs to have a match day copy of the rules. Rule 2.6 states that new clubs shall be given ONE copy of the directory and rules and that continuing clubs should receive updates for their folders. This was carried out by the league council meeting when all clubs were given new rules, fixtures and directory. With good intentions on behalf of the region this season a match day set of rules has been posted to all clubs and should be with you all before the start of our season. Updates to league rules will still be supplied at the start of the season for you to integrate within the rules in your possession. There is also within this site provision for you to download a full set of league rules using the ERWFL RULES Button.

I would like to request a link to our services from your Eastern Region Womens Football League website. (A link has been placed on our 'LINKS' page)

To give you a bit of background, in September 2006, we launched a website, mAnagr.com, aimed at helping grassroots football managers in managing their teams. It's a FREE service and, after registering, the manager enters the details of their club and squad, the season and competitions that they are entering, their players’ details and then their fixtures. They can then pick their team by dragging & dropping their players onto a pitch, send messages to their players via SMS or email and then report the match (score, scorers, etc) again by drag & drop. It can keep track of match fees, training subs and fines and collates all the player stats, etc. At the end of the season this data is used to produce memorabilia, generally in the form of a Season's Record Card, to present to their players as a souvenir of the season (this is when they have to pay!). So, if they don't buy the end of season gear and don't use SMS, it's totally free!

Barking Ladies have asked for this to be placed on the web site:-

I have spoken to Tessa Haywood at the F.A. regarding our team incentive (sponsorship) who intern has spoken to her boss and says there’s no problem with putting it on the leagues Web Site and making people aware of our incentive. Therefore would it be possible to put this note under the breaking news section of the leagues web site.

Barking Ladies pre-season is now under way and we are looking for experienced players to strengthen our existing squads for both under 18s and seniors there will be a team incentive in place for our senior section this season please contact

Peter Ball on 07790-594530 for further information or by E-mail at peter.ball2006@btinternet.com

Here we are with several notices that you need to remember: Firstly Bill Servey has had a virus invasion of his computer and will not be able to respond to any e-mails sent to him for the near future. He can pick up his e-mails at Helens or the Library but obviously he will not be able to send any out as new e-mails as he will not have addresses loaded.
