I am the captain of Cambridge

the newly vacant position of coach for our club. I would be
really grateful if you could post the following message on the
ERWFL website:
Cambridge University are looking for
a new coach! We are a successful club, finishing 5th in the

The main things we require from a
new coach are the following:
1) Tuesday night coaching - 1hr30
2) Manager on a Sunday - 3hrs +
depending on home/away
3) Correct license to drive the
minibus (D1 category & over 21 OR passed test before 1997)
If you are interested in this
position, please contact me on:

With the AGM just around the corner
(as stated above) please let me remind you that you will need to
bring with you a cheque made payable to the ERWFL for at least
£20 which will get you your player registration forms for next
season. All clubs will be given 20 forms and those that wish to
have more can purchase more on the night subject to them having
a cheque to the value required. If you still have some of last
season's forms unused you can exchange them for new forms or get
a refund off you new season's forms.
ALL CLUBS MUST BE REPRESENTED AT THE AGM
|
|
30-05-10
Well we did it, we have actually
finished our season one day before deadline day. Congratulations
to all member clubs for achieving this feat this season after
such horrendous weather conditions. I must also publically thank
Peter Ball our fixture secretary who has helped to make this
happen. To you all have a relaxing summer and hopefully we will
see most of you back again next season, although to all you
secretaries out there don't forget the AGM as above. See ya.
|
|
23-05-10
Congratulations from the management
committee to Braintree Town who today clinched the Premier
Division Championship and will now look to promotion to the
South East Combination League for next season. The Division One
North and South were completed last week and we congratulate
Kettering Town who gained promotion the the Premier Division
from Division One North and both Arlesey Town (champions) and
Brentwood Town (runners up) who gained promotion to the Premier
Division from Division One South. Both Taverham and West Lynn
have been relegated to Division One North for next season.

25-04-10
I must apologise for those of you
tonight that have tried in vane to get through to the answer
phone. I arrived back from Bristol at 6.30pm to find I was
in the middle of a power cut that has only just come back on
about 6.50pm. Thank you to those that have text it to me.
The web site has now been updated so
all is well with the world. Don't forget the council meeting
tomorrow night at Bottisham.
With regard to the Representative
game on Cup Final day Cambridge Rangers were unable to field a
team so we have invited Ipswich Wanderers who have accepted.
|
|
22-04-10
With only one game being played at
Soham Town Rangers on the finals day because there will be no
play off game this season it was decided to put on a
representative game between the two division ones. After
consultations across the management committee it was decided to
select the two teams as such. Division One North had already
finished with Kettering Town as Champions and Norwich City
Reserves as runners up getting rewarded with medals at our AGM.
Division One South is still playing and Arlesey Town, Brentwood
Town and Billericay Town are all in the running for the top two
spots. With Billericay Town in the Final it looks as if medals
could be awarded to all three. Hannakins the fourth placed team
at the moment is playing Brentwood Town on the day so the next
available team was Sawbridgeworth Town. We are currently still
awaiting Cambridge Rangers acceptance to play so we will confirm
this game once that acceptance has been received.

Once again the weather has had a
major effect on the games that were due to be played today, and
I think we now need to look at the situation and see if as a
whole we can do something about it. I believe it is now time to
address the general playing situation so that we can give every
game every chance of being played while this weather is causing
so much trouble. From next weekend 07-03-10 I think it would be
prudent to wave the ground criteria required for the Premier
Division if it means we can get a game played. So If the Home
pitch is unplayable look to reverse the fixture. If the away
ground is also unplayable you can have the option to use a
ground that is not fully Ground Criteria accepted (as long as
there are dressing rooms available) You can also have the option
of using a Full size 3G Astro Turf pitch. As for the Division
One games the above also applies. We will readdress the
situation on a weekly basis.

Firstly let me announce that Bill
Servey is back on the internet so if you need to contact him,
you can do now, at the old e-mail address.
After a conversation today it seems
that home clubs during this bad weather are leaving their pitch
inspections a little close to the mark with regard to the team
travelling. As we know our squads are not made up from local
players and sometimes the players live 30 to 45 minutes or may
be more from their home ground so some may be travelling
up to two hours to get to your ground. So as a gentle word of
understanding during these bad weather days can we please take
into account where the opposition is travelling from and try and
adjust your pitch inspections so that it gives the maximum time
to those that will have to travel to your ground. This will give
the players travelling a chance to be nearer home if the call
comes that the game is indeed off.

We have over the past couple of
months had to deal with the aspect of Ground Grading and do we
need to have it. We have always expressed that the Region has to
carry out instructions from the FA and here is a response from
Tessa Haywood at the FA with regard to the matter:-
Further to our recent
telephone conversation, I would like to confirm that the Ground
Grading document for the Women’s Pyramid of Football was agreed
through the Women’s Football Conference and came into force for
the 2006 / 2007 season.
It affects the FAWPL,
Combination and the Premier Divisions of the Regional Leagues
across the country. The criteria was put together by the Leagues
and agreed unanimously by all Leagues in the Pyramid. Leagues
were asked to add the criteria as an Appendix to their League
Rules. It was put together to ensure that standards are raised
as you move up the Pyramid and also to ensure standards are
consistent and fair across the country.
I hope this helps but any
queries just let me know
Best wishes

Here is an update for Les Ramsey.
Les is back on the internet (quick eh!!!) with his usual e-mail
address:- les.ramsey@aol.com
also there is a slight difference in the spelling of his new
address which is Whinfield and not
as previously stated Winfield.
|
|
17-12-09
There has been an increase in poorly
completed paperwork over recent weeks. For example incorrect
date for the fixture; Stevenage Boro vs Peterborough, West Lynn
vs Bedford or incorrect team Ipswich Wanders vs Cambridge Women
Res (sent in as Cambridge City Res) In future all referees form
not correctly completed will be returned to clubs who will be
fined if they fail to return them within the allotted time, so
the moral is folks COMPLETE YOUR FORMS CORRECTLY AND CHECK
BEFORE POSTING!
Yvonne

Apologies from me but this should
have been posted earlier this week. With immediate effect Les
Ramsey is changing address. His new address for all post is:-
7 Winfield, Martlesham Heath, Ipswich,
Suffolk. IP5 3TR. It is going to take a while to get his
internet up and running as well as a home phone number so if you
need to talk to him direct please continue to use his mobile
number. He will also be out of use on his Fax number as well for
the foreseeable future.

Unfortunately I will not have
Internet access after 11.00am on Tuesday 24th November 2009.
This situation could last for 5 to 7 days so this is advanced
warning that the Web site will not be updated until 1st December
2009 at the earliest. I do apologise but hopefully this will be
just the one off for this season.
Please refer all Fixture requests to
Peter Ball, Any matters that you would normally speak to me
about please direct to Yvonne Chapman. Thanks

We have just been informed that
after much sole searching Yaxley have had to withdraw from the

now be expunged from the league table. We wish them well for the
future if they do try to rebuild.

On behalf of the ERWFL membership I
would like to extend congratulations to 5 of our member clubs
who have progressed through to the First Round Proper of the FA
Women's Cup. With Woodbridge Town effectively getting a bye
through because of Welwyn Garden City's demise and the draw that
sees Haringey Borough play Barking. The Region is also
guaranteed 2 teams in the Second Round Proper. Lets hope that
Bedford and Sawbridgeworth Town can make it a quadruple group.
The FA Women's Cup 1st Round Proper
draw was made today and the remaining ERWFL clubs were drawn as
follows:-
Haringey Borough v
Barking
Cambridge Women's v
Sawbridgeworth Town
Welwyn Garden City v
Woodbridge Town (walk over to Woodbridge Town as Welwyn
Garden City have folded)
Bedford v
Chesham United

Please take note that as Chairman I
do not need to see your match sheets. This season so far I have
had 3 sets of match forms which I have then had to send to Bill
Servey who is registration secretary who needs the forms. We
seem to have this situation each and every year and with all the
information that comes out at the start of each season I am at a
loss why this suddenly happens. So to all secretaries, please
inform whoever completes and sends off the match forms after
games that they go to:- Bill Servey, 10 Hazell Road, North
Walsham, Norwich, Norfolk, NR28 0ST and not to me . Thank You

24-09-09
This is a reminder to ALL clubs that
there are a few out there that are not doing their jobs
correctly. Bill Servey is receiving
2008-2009 referee forms which DO
NOT have all the relevant information spaces on them. At
the meeting we held before the season started
ALL clubs were informed that clubs
had to destroy last season forms as they are
NOT VALID. You were told to
download the 2009-2010 forms from
the web site. Clearly either you failed to register this in the
memory banks of your mind or that you did but thought you would
use the old forms as they were there and it would save on paper.
Up till now Bill has called an amnesty to fines for this action.
BUT. As of Sunday 4th October 2009
any wrong forms received will be dealt with under
NO CORRESPONDENCE rule 5.9 which
carries a fine of £20. Please take this as a final warning to
you all.

24-09-09
We have just been informed that Bill
Servey has changed his e-mail address. With all the trouble he
has had we hope that this one will be more reliable. Please

Hi folks, Yvonne Chapman is moving house.
Right then, FINALLY I am moving - after the bank holiday!
I
am packing up my computer at 11 pm tomorrow night and will not
have internet access on it until around mid September when BT
get their act into gear. For a while I will be able to receive
emails on my blackberry phone - but I can't down load scans on
that, and the sky.com email will only operate until around
Wednesday next week.
However, by then I will be back at school so M-F will be able to
have access to the internet there. Scans will still not be
possible.
Sorry
about this 'restricted' service - but it should only be for
10-14 days!
My new address starting 1st September 2009 is
30 Burnside Crescent
Chelmsford
Essex
CM1 4EH
I
can however be reached via text or using my other email

As a reminder to all clubs if you
are signing for the first time a player to your club who is
between the ages of 16 and 18 that they will need proof of age
to accompany the registration form before the player can be
registered with this league. |
|
08-07-09
Can I remind all clubs that they
have to have a minimum of 15 players registered by 1st August
(rule 8.2c). With the season starting for the Premier Division
on 16th August and the Division Ones a week later please don't
leave it till the last moment to get your registration forms to
the Satellites as their job is hard enough at the start of the
season. So let the forms trickle in I am sure they will
appreciate that more than getting two hundred all at once.

I have
today loaded the locations of pitches for your clubs on the team
pages. It is quite possible that I may have them wrong as I do
not have the applications forms from Alex yet so it is being
done from information obtained form the County FA's. Please
check to see if they are right and if not then please give me
the post code of your ground and I will update it.

At the Region's AGM last night the
dates for the start of the season were announced and they are as
follows:-
The Premier Division will start on
Sunday 16th August 2009, the two Division One's North and South
will start on Sunday 23rd August.
There were also a few rule changes
which will be updated soon and will be able to be downloaded
from the site when done.
We have also taken on board a brand
new officer post of referee Secretary who is Gary Stewart who
will be liaising with Peter Ball to appoint in the first
instance referees for the Premier Division. Hopefully the word
will go around and we will get more referees to sign up for the
Region and the two Division Ones can also have appointed
Officials.
We are looking to have fixtures
available within the next couple of weeks and a draft set will
be posted on the site when done so look out for the
announcement.
Have a great season and at this time
next season look back with a smile and a belief that all that
could be done was done.

You will notice that I have added a
link on the left column to the Football Association Laws of the
Game. I know it is for the 2008-09 season but as yet the
2009-2010 season has not been printed. As soon as it is I will
endeavour to get a copy on the site. Enjoy

The new season 2009-2010 will be a
land mark season as we will have completed 20 years of Women's
football come this time next year. The Eastern Region has grown
and is now a well respected Women's Football League within the
FA Pyramid of Football. Looking back over the years there has
been changes but always to the better. Having been a committee
member for the best part of these past 19 years I have seen a
lot of clubs come and go but it seems strange at times that the
questions always remain the same. With a full season to think
about it, it would be nice to commemorate our coming of age
season, the 21st season 2010-2011 in some way to mark the event.
Lets get you member clubs involved in deciding what we can do.
Send any ideas to Alex Franklin who I am sure will then
distribute them around the member clubs for discussion.

Well as you can see I have tried to
update the web site into a less harsh view that I think is
better for the eyes. Please have a look through and let me know
if you agree. All the relevant information for the season
2008-2009 is now located in the archives section. Albeit final
tables, league results, even the cup competitions have been
transferred to the archives.
