There
has been a request to add archives from the regional league since it
has been running. Although we are not able to show individual
results etc for many of the years we do have the final league
placing for many of the past seasons. I have also added this seasons
results as a start to keeping the weekly records of each season. I
hope you find this entertaining. Please use your browser back

Way back in 1994
these notes were placed inside the cup final programme as an
indication and a little background to where the Eastern Region
had begun.
There were 4
teams playing in the Eastern Region that were formed in the late
1960's. Town & County (1966) who were then known as the cobblers,
Pye Ladies (1967) The only club at the time that was still playing
at the same ground as they were when formed. Dunstable (1967) and
Luton Daytels (1969) who are now known as Langford. They started
playing friendlies before Town & County plus Pye's help with other
teams formed the East Midlands League.
Luton &
Dunstable played in the Lea Valley League. In 1977/78 both leagues
joined to form the Chiltern League. In 1979/00 there were enough
clubs to have two divisions. In 1981/82 season, clubs that were
playing were Hemel, Hemel Reserves, Milton Keynes, Bedford College,
Dunston Two Tones, Stevenage (1), Luton Women, Papworth, Launton,
Luton Daytels, Town & County and Oxford.
Teams who joined
afterwards:
1983
Norwich, Leighton Linslade.
1985
Arlesey, Oxford Reserves.
1986
Peterborough (1), Luton Arrows, Letchworth, Ipswich
1987
Stevenage (2), Ware
1988
Hertford
In 1989/90 both
divisions joined to make one division with 12 teams. This was the
last year of the Chiltern League
In 1990/91 teams
from the East Anglian Women's Football League which were Racers,
Stalham Seahawks, Suffolk Bluebirds, Norwich Falcons, Breydon and
Thetford joined with the Chiltern League to form the Eastern Region.
Note: There has
been 3 different teams called Stevenage and 2 Peterborough sides.

information was supplied by Liz Brennan who used to be secretary of
Pye Ladies.)
